Caddo Council on Aging Selects Cumulus for Veteran Directed Care

Cumulus is pleased to announce that Caddo Council on Aging has selected Cumulus for Veteran Directed Care (VDC) to support its established VDC program serving veterans in Louisiana, southern Arkansas, and Texas.

Caddo Council on Aging has operated its Veteran Directed Care program for approximately 10 years. Through VDC, eligible veterans receive the flexibility to direct their own home and community-based services and supports, helping them remain safely and independently in their homes and communities.

Caddo will implement Cumulus for VDC to create a centralized environment for managing referrals, veteran enrollment and case management, assessments, required contacts, care and spending plans, documentation, reporting, and program oversight. The platform is designed to reduce manual and duplicative work while giving program staff greater visibility into caseloads, outstanding activities, and overall program operations.

Our VDC program has been serving veterans across our region for many years, and we’re always looking for ways to strengthen how we support that work. Cumulus gives us an opportunity to bring more of our program information and activities together in one place, improve visibility across the team, and create the operational capacity to grow the program so we can serve more veterans and their families.

As Caddo’s VDC program grows, Cumulus will provide a more centralized and consistent way to manage day-to-day operations, helping the team handle additional caseload while maintaining visibility into referrals, required activities, care and spending plans, and overall program performance.

Caddo has built an experienced Veteran Directed Care program and understands firsthand how much coordination and administrative work goes into supporting veterans through a self-directed model.
