The initiative will give BSHC a more connected operating environment across workflows that currently span multiple systems. Cumulus will provide staff with visibility from referral and authorization through service delivery, billing readiness and claims activity.
Cumulus stood out not only because of the technology, but because the team understands the long-term services and supports environment and the work organizations like ours actually do. We were particularly impressed by the way the platform connects authorization status, billing readiness and claims processing. That gives us an opportunity to identify problems earlier, strengthen oversight and reduce the gaps that can lead to denied claims.
–Meg Hogan, Chief Executive Officer of Boston Senior Home Care
The project will modernize BSHC’s claims workflows. Cumulus will support the creation and submission of 837 claims transactions and the processing of 835 electronic remittance advice, providing visibility into claim status, payments, denials and exceptions. The platform will also help identify missing or problematic authorizations before claims are submitted.
Boston Senior Home Care is taking a thoughtful approach to modernization by looking at whole-person care, referrals, authorizations, and claims as parts of one connected operating model rather than as separate technology problems. Our role is to give BSHC a technology foundation that makes it easier to work with community and healthcare partners, see what is happening across these workflows and identify what needs attention before it becomes a larger problem.
–John Byer, CEO of Cumulus Care
The implementation will proceed in phases, beginning with discovery and data mapping and continuing through configuration, testing, training and production rollout.
