Cumulus is pleased to announce that Minnesota River Area Agency on Aging, Inc. (MNRAAA) has selected Cumulus for Veteran Directed Care (VDC) to support its growing multi-state VDC program serving veterans across Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, and Nebraska.
MNRAAA has operated Veteran Directed Care since the program's inception in 2008 and currently partners with five Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Centers (VAMCs) throughout the Upper Midwest. In recent years, the organization has significantly expanded its VDC program, growing from a single-VAMC operation into a multi-state program serving veterans across five states.
Through this partnership, MNRAAA will implement Cumulus for VDC, a purpose-built platform designed specifically for the operational, reporting, and collaboration needs of Veteran Directed Care programs. The platform will support referral management, assessments, care and spending plans, ongoing monitoring, collaboration with Financial Management Services (FMS) partners, reporting, and program oversight.
The Veteran Directed Care program is an integral part of our organization. MNRAAA takes great pride in serving our Veterans and has responded to the need in our communities. As our program expanded across multiple states and VA Medical Centers, we recognized the need for a platform that could help us scale efficiently while maintaining a high level of service for veterans and their families. What stood out about Cumulus was its focus on Veteran Directed Care. The platform reflects how VDC programs actually operate and gives us the tools we need to support continued growth.
–Jason W. Swanson, Executive Director of MNRAAA
MNRAAA's implementation will provide a centralized environment for managing veteran referrals, assessments, care planning, ongoing contacts, and reporting across its five-state service area. The system will help improve visibility, standardization, and coordination among counselors, administrators, and partner organizations while reducing manual processes and duplicative effort.
Jason and his team have built an impressive VDC program serving veterans across five states and five VA Medical Centers. We're honored to support their next phase of growth and help provide the operational infrastructure needed to continue expanding access to Veteran Directed Care.
–John Byer, CEO of Cumulus Care
The addition of MNRAAA further expands Cumulus' growing national footprint in Veteran Directed Care. Organizations across the country use Cumulus to support VDC operations ranging from local programs to large multi-state hub and super-hub models.
Implementation is expected to begin this summer.
